In this week’s Entrepreneur Feature, we speak to Oswald Yeo, the co-founder and CEO of Glints, a recruitment platform looking to match young talents and companies.
- What is Glints and what do you do?
Glints is a recruitment platform that helps companies to build their teams with young talent. At the same time, we help fresh graduates and young professionals to discover their careers and to do what they love.
2. What is Glints’ secret sauce?
I wouldn’t say that we have one magical secret sauce, but it’s really a lot of small things that we do that adds up together. It’s a “velcro” strategy that sometimes we talk about. It’s a lot of small things that we do, always focused on the users, and it all adds up together to make a sticky product.
3. What is next for Glints?
We have found some good success in the Singapore market and the next step is to go into the region. We’re focusing on Indonesia and at the same time, solidifying our position in Singapore.
4. What is the greatest challenge you have faced?
I think the greatest challenge for any start-up founder or entrepreneur is handling your emotions. Your start-up is like your own baby, so anything that happens to it you feel very strongly for it. It’s like an emotional rollercoaster. Over time you get used to it, just need to make sure you remain calm and you can make the right decisions.
5. What is your best memory at BLOCK71?
The very first time we started our company was at JFDI, it was an accelerator programme here at level 5. We were just hotdesking there at the accelerator programme. That was one of our first memories, just meeting up with the founders, plugging into the ecosystem. Even beyond BLOCK71 Singapore, BLOCK71 San Francisco when we were there for a period of time, we also met the community as well, feels great to have the community together.
